I’m taking the plunge. Plunge, as in turning professional organizing into my full-time career—not just a side hustle anymore.
This is a big, exciting step. I’m also thrilled to share that I’ve started training to become a ShelfGenie designer. It’s a perfect complement to organizing—helping people not only declutter but also create spaces that function better for their lives.

If you’re new to Smart Move Organizing or just getting to know me, here’s a bit of background: I spent the last 12 years in education—first as a middle and high school science teacher, then as a high school counselor.
That chapter was incredibly meaningful. I worked with students on academic planning, emotional support, time management, and developing systems for success. Organization was always part of the equation. I led small groups focused on planning and productivity, and I saw how a little structure could transform not only grades but confidence.
As a classroom teacher, I made sure organization was built into how I taught. Disorganized materials often meant struggling in class. I’ve seen again and again how important it is to have systems that work.
Organizing may not be for everyone (like the Nebraska slogan says), but it can solve a lot of problems. My background in education taught me that what I love most is helping people grow, feel supported, and recognize their own potential. That hasn’t changed—I’m just doing it in a new way now.
Because I love to organize. Always have. It’s a passion that’s followed me for as long as I can remember.
While I’m stepping away from education, I’m not stepping away from helping people. This new chapter allows me to keep making a difference—by creating spaces that help people live better, more functional lives.
I believe organization is a learned skill, not a personality trait. It can be learned, refined, and adapted to any lifestyle. And I’ve seen how an organized home can open up time, space, and peace of mind. That’s what I want to give to others.
I’m married and have three kids—all with names that start with the same letter. Family life keeps me busy, but when I find time for myself, I catch up with friends near and far, cheer on the Huskers, go for a run, or get lost in a great book or audiobook. Coffee is non-negotiable in the mornings. I grew up in the Irish capital of Nebraska, and watch a couple of shows regularly.
I’m dedicating more time to my work as a professional organizer in Omaha and helping people actively transform their homes and workspaces into calm, efficient, and joyful places to live and work.
Whether it’s decluttering your kitchen, designing better storage for your closet, or preparing your home for a move—I’m here to help. With the added training from ShelfGenie, I can also offer customized storage solutions that improve access, layout, and function.
If you’re looking to get organized, you’ve found someone who loves arranging and optimizing spaces—and genuinely enjoys helping people live better lives through it.
