If you’re considering hiring a professional organizer in Omaha, one of your first questions is probably: How much is this going to cost?
It’s a fair question, and the answer depends on more than the size of your pantry or the number of closets you want organized. Professional organizing costs can vary based on the scope of the project, how much hands-on help you want, the number of organizers working in your home, and whether you need organizing products or custom storage.
At Smart Move Organizing (Smart Move Organizing), our organizing packages start around $1,400. That gives you a helpful starting point, but I also want you to understand what you’re paying for and what can affect the final investment.
The biggest factor is usually time. A small pantry that needs some editing and better product placement is very different from a basement filled with years of belongings or an entire kitchen that needs to be unpacked and organized after a move.
The number of organizers can also affect the project. I often work with a team because it allows us to accomplish much more in one day. Instead of having an organizing project stretch across several weekends, we can sort, organize, source solutions, and put the space back together much more efficiently.
Other factors can include the amount of sorting or editing needed, the size of the space, product sourcing, labeling, unpacking, and whether the existing storage works for what you own.
Our professional home organizing packages start at approximately $900. We offer different package sizes based on the amount of organizing support your project needs.
Before recommending a package, I want to understand the space and what you want to accomplish. That’s why we start with a consultation rather than trying to give every project the same estimate.

Organizing products are separate from the cost of organizing services.
Some spaces need very few new products. We may be able to reuse bins, baskets, and organizers you already own. Other spaces benefit from new products that better fit the shelves, drawers, or categories we’re organizing.
When products are needed, we can help determine what will actually fit and make sense for the space. This saves you from ordering several different bins, discovering they don’t fit, returning them, and starting over.
The goal isn’t to fill your house with organizing products. It’s to use the right products where they actually make your life easier.
This is another reason professional organizing prices can vary so much.
A pantry may take several hours, while a kitchen, large closet, basement, garage, or unpacking project can require considerably more time. The amount of stuff matters, but so does the number of decisions that need to be made and how well the existing storage works.
During your consultation, I can get a much better idea of the scope and recommend the amount of organizing time that makes sense.
You’re paying for more than someone putting things into bins.
A professional organizer is looking at how you use the space, what isn’t working, how categories should be arranged, where items should live, which products will fit, and how the finished system can be maintained.
You’re also paying for someone to keep the project moving.
That matters when the project you’ve been meaning to tackle for six months can finally get done without giving up another weekend to do it yourself.
The National Association of Productivity and Organizing Professionals (NAPO) is a helpful resource for learning more about professional organizing and what to consider when hiring an organizer.
Sometimes organizing isn’t enough.
You can have exactly the right amount of stuff and still struggle with a closet that has too much hanging space and not enough shelving, a pantry with awkward shelves, or kitchen cabinets where you can barely reach what’s in the back.
Smart Move Organizing offers both professional home organization and custom storage solutions, which allows us to look at the entire problem. Sometimes the answer is better organization. Sometimes it’s better storage. Often, it’s both.
That depends on what you want help accomplishing.
For many of my clients, the value is having the project handled efficiently instead of spending weeks trying to do it themselves. It might mean finally having a pantry where you can see what you own, a closet that makes getting dressed easier, or a garage where everything has a place.
There’s also the time you get back. If organizing your home has been sitting on your list for months because work, kids, activities, and everyday life keep taking priority, hiring help allows the project to actually get done.
A professionally organized home doesn’t have to look perfect. It should simply make your everyday life easier.
Every home and project is different, which is why the best way to understand what professional organizing will cost for your space is to start with a consultation.
Contact Smart Move Organizing and complete our intake form. Tell me which spaces you need help with, and we’ll talk through the project, your priorities, and the amount of support that makes sense.
If you’ve been putting off a project because you don’t have the time to tackle it yourself, you don’t have to keep doing it alone.
